Each cast resin dry-type transformer is engineered with a design approach that differs significantly from standard distribution transformers, especially in terms of structural strength and thermal performance.

Electrical Field & Partial Discharge Protection

A correct distribution of the electric field within the windings must be ensured to avoid partial discharge issues or problems related to overvoltage resonance

This is guaranteed by the GBE design team that considers the proper distribution of the capacities between coils, layers and parts of the coils, and to the ground.

• Voltage class up to 52 kV
• Core is made with grain-oriented magnetic laminations cut at 45° and assembled with the step lap method
• MV windings are mould encapsulated in an autoclave with class F epoxy resin
• Windings are made from aluminium or copper
• Material temperature classes are F (155°C) or H (180°C)
• Switching with no-load or on-load (OLTC)
• Cooling with AN or AF
• Protection IP00 to IP54
• Ambient temperature from -60°C and up to +60°C
• Metalwork produced in-house and galvanised for installation in even the most aggressive environments
